Innocence

A beautiful poem about the true meaning of innocence

innocence

In the realm of dreams, where childlike hearts reside,
There blooms a fragile flower, pure and bright,
A beacon of hope, where wonders coincide,
A tender flame, untouched by worldly blight.

In innocence, a sacred treasure thrives,
A gift bestowed upon youth’s tender grace,
A sanctuary where all darkness strives,
To cast its pall upon this hallowed place.

Oh, innocence, your spirit knows no fear,
Unveiling truths through unassuming eyes,
With open hearts, so eager to draw near,
To bask in love’s embrace without disguise.

But time’s cruel hand, alack, will take its toll,
And innocence fades as wisps of an old soul.

As shadows dance upon life’s winding track,
Sweet innocence succumbs to harsh deceit,
In innocence, we find our spirits crack,
As pain and sorrow tempt its swift retreat.

Yet still we yearn, like whispered echoes lost,
To reclaim that tender light’s gentle sway,
Though innocence, like sands through fingers tossed,
Remains a flicker that slips away.

But let us not despair, for innocence holds
A timeless spark, an ember that endures,
Igniting faith when all seems uncontrolled,
And guiding steps down winding paths unsure.

In innocence, our hearts reconnect,
To the beauty that this world has to reflect.

Though tarnished, we stand, scarred by our mistakes,
With wisdom learned through trials we’ve endured,
Yet innocence, like dawn on shimmering lakes,
Still whispers hope, a promise reassured.

And in the twilight’s glow, we shall believe,
That innocence, like love, can be reborn,
A sacred flame amidst a world of weave,
A testament to dreams that won’t be torn.

So let us seek, with hearts both true and kind,
The remnants of innocence left behind,
In laughter’s sound, in sunlight’s tender kiss,
We’ll find the echoes of what innocence is.
