They have their own memories, they are not inert and dead.
They remember moments of Saturday afternoons before people had a word for Saturday afternoon.
They remember experiences from times before your culture was born.
But they also remember futures that do not yet exist in your terms.

Seth: “But, as I my friend here, reincarnation actually represents only a nice myth. But it gives a glimpse of the truth. All atoms and molecules have a consciousness … I go back for him (Dick Bach) to our ABC. Nothing is lost. The atoms and molecules that are now part of your physical being were flowers, trees, toads, people, clouds. They have their own memories, they are not inert and dead. But they also remember futures that do not yet exist in your terms. Now take this group of thoughts I just gave you and add them to the next group. This group begins like this: There is no limitation to the self, only the limitations you place on it. Well, that can be scary, because there is no point where your identity begins or ends. So you invent such a point and say, “I am here. So “here” becomes the point or place where you are. And when you run out of that door, you realize the “I am” elsewhere. And so your concept of “I” grows. There are no limitations to the self. Now, between these two different sets of ideas lies a much greater truth than the story of reincarnation. You don’t need the plane. You are just as free here, with your feet on the ground; you are just as free from restrictions here. Well, you tell other people that, but you don’t believe it yourself. You still think you need your plane, the flight, the freedom and the feeling of happiness that can come. But the feeling of happiness is yours whether you have the plane or not. You are so free to fly. You don’t need that vehicle. You are the vehicle. Well, she (Eleanor Friede) knows that. She gives me one of those looks that says, “I’ve told him this so many times, but he just won’t listen to me!” You don’t have to fly away from limitations, because there are none. You have control over the elements, and here.”
