Understanding Reincarnation: Exploring the Dynamics of Consciousness Progression

My take on Consciousness progression

Consciousness seeks multidimensional materialization, creating new levels of awareness and constantly shaping reality. It’s in a perpetual state of becoming, not limited to a linear progression. Each life isn’t thrust upon an individual by an external force but is a material development, a manifestation of the inner self expressing itself in various ways. This expression isn’t confined to one three-dimensional lifetime or existence; it takes diverse forms, akin to the transformation from a caterpillar to a butterfly. The soul or entity, a highly individualized spiritual energy, adapts its form to suit its expression and creates environments to fulfill its purposes. Each setting prompts new developments, fostering continual creativity.

This part intricately explores the concept of reincarnation beyond a linear progression of soul development. It emphasizes the multidimensional nature of consciousness, suggesting that consciousness seeks materialization in diverse forms, creating new levels of awareness and shaping reality. Reincarnation, rather than a simple linear evolution, involves deliberate choices made by individuals between lives, focusing on specific aspects for growth and learning. This deliberate specialization might result in seemingly imbalanced personalities from a physical perspective but facilitates profound inner development. Individuals choose unique paths, experiencing various facets of life to understand and value different aspects of existence. The intricate interplay between consciousness, personal choices, and the purposeful evolution of the soul between lives forms the crux of understanding the dynamics of reincarnation.

Consciousness progression, a Seth session

Seth: “Now: An inverted time system actually presents us with a system that more closely approximates the true nature of time. Time does, indeed, turn in upon itself, even as it explodes outward from itself. The expanding universe theory applies much more truly to time than it does to the physical universe. You think of a steady progression into the future. However, as you know there is no real progression, moment by successive moment, as you suppose.”

“By the very nature of consciousness, it seeks to materialize itself in as many dimensions as possible – to create from itself new levels of awareness, new off-shoots. In doing so it creates all reality. Reality, therefore, is always in a state of becoming. The thoughts that you think, for example, in your actor’s roles, are still completely unique and lead to new creativity. Certain aspects of your own consciousness could be fulfilled in no other way.

When you think of reincarnation, you suppose a series of progressions. Instead, the various lives grow out of what your inner self is. They are not thrust upon you by some outside agency. They are a material development, as your consciousness opens up and expresses itself in as many ways as possible. It is not restricted to one three-dimensional lifetime nor is it restricted to three-dimensional existence alone.

Your consciousness then takes many forms, and these forms need not be alike any more, say, than a caterpillar is like a butterfly. The soul or entity has complete freedom of expression. It changes its form to suit its expression, and it forms environments like stage settings, and worlds to suit its purposes. Each setting brings forth new developments.
The soul or entity is highly individualized spiritual energy. It forms whatever body you now wear and is the motive power behind your physical survival, for from it you derive your vitality. Consciousness can never be still, but seeks further creativity.

The soul, therefore, or entity endows three-dimensional reality, and the three-dimensional self with its own properties. The abilities of the entity lie within the three-dimensional self. The three-dimensional self, the actor, has access to this information and to these potentials. In learning to use these potentials, in learning to rediscover its relationship with the entity, the three-dimensional self raises still further the level of achievement, comprehension, and creativity. The three-dimensional self becomes more than it knows.

Not only is the entity strengthened, but portions of it, having been actualized in three-dimensional existence, now add to the very quality and nature of that existence”

“Reincarnation involves far more than a simple decision to undergo another physical existence. In this in-between period of which I am speaking, many issues therefore are considered.

When most people think of reincarnation, they think in terms of a one-lineprogression in which the soul perfects itself in each succeeding life. This is a gross simplification. There are endless varieties of this one theme, individual variations. The process of reincarnation is used in many ways, therefore, and in this time of rest individuals must decide on the unique way in which reincarnation will be of use.

Some, for example, choose to isolate various characteristics in a given life, and work on these almost exclusively, basing a given existence upon, say, one main theme. As seen from a physical viewpoint, such a personality would appear very one sided, and far from a well-developed individual.

In one life the intellect may purposely be very high and those powers of the mind carried as far as the individual can take them. These abilities are then studied thoroughly by the entire personality, both the benefits and the detrimental aspects of the intellect weighed carefully. Through experience in another life this same kind of individual might specialize in emotional development and purposely underplay intellectual abilities.

Again, the physical picture would not be necessarily that of a well-developed or balanced personality. Specific creative abilities might be specialized in the same manner. If you looked at these lives as a series of progressions in usual terms, then you would be left with many questions unanswered.
Nevertheless the development does occur, but the individuals choose the way in which they prefer this development to take place.

Through denying themselves, say, intellectual development in a given life, personalities also learn the value and purpose of that which they do not possess. The desire for it is then born within them – if, for example, earlier they did not understand the purposes of the intellect. So in the time of choosing, personalities decide upon the ways in which they will develop in the following incarnation.

Some will choose progression at an easier rate and in a more balanced manner. They will help keep all the strands of personality working at once, so to speak, and even meet again and again people they have known in other lives. They will work out problems at a rather easy rate, rather than in, say, an explosive way. They will pace themselves as dancers do.”

Harmonizing Reincarnation and the Spacious Present: Unveiling the Timeless Dimensions of Consciousness

Hourglass at sunset on rocky surface.

My take on the spacious present and inverted time

This comprehensive exploration delves into the multifaceted nature of consciousness and the interconnectedness of time and existence. It intertwines insights from the dynamics of reincarnation, where individuals deliberate on their unique pathways between lives, with Seth’s concepts of inverted time and the spacious present. The interconnectedness of consciousness and time challenges linear notions, offering a timeless continuum where past, present, and future coexist. This understanding allows individuals to access experiences from different incarnations within their present moment, shaping their personal growth and evolution across various temporal dimensions.

The spacious present embodies a timeless reality where the conventional linear notion of time dissolves. Seth’s notion of time turning in upon itself resonates with the concept of reincarnation’s nonlinear progression. While individuals make deliberate choices between lives, the spacious present suggests that these choices exist simultaneously and are accessible within this timeless framework. Just as inverted time signifies the interconnectedness of all actions across time, reincarnation involves the continual influence of past experiences on present and future choices.

Seth’s emphasis on the ego’s perception of time—past, present, and future—being a construct limited to the ego aligns with the idea of reincarnation being a process driven by conscious choices made beyond the limitations of conventional time. The ego’s reliance on the past for stability parallels the way individuals might draw from past life experiences to shape their current existence.

The concept of flexibility and voluntary change within the self, as described by Seth, echoes the evolving nature of consciousness through various incarnations. The voluntary exploration of probabilities aligns with the deliberate choices individuals make between lives to facilitate personal growth.

On spacious present and inverted time, a Seth session

Person observing surreal planetary alignment from cliff.

There is only the spacious present. You are in the spacious present now. You were in the spacious present in your yesterday. And, you still will not have traveled through it in your tomorrow or in eons of tomorrows.

An inverted time system actually presents us with a system that more closely approximates the true nature of time. Time does, indeed, turn in upon itself, even as it explodes outward from itself. The expanding universe theory applies much more truly to time than it does to the physical universe.

You think of a steady progression into the future. However, as you know there is no real progression, moment by successive moment, as you suppose.

The idea of inverted time states that time flows in all directions. And, that as each action affects every other action, so time constantly affects itself and continually reacts within itself. The past moment is never completed. Consciously you have simply lost sight of it. And, have not followed it through in its endless depths.

When the inverted time system is understood for what it is, then the individual is in contact simultaneously with the experience gained in the so-called past. And, is also able to take advantage of events which have not yet occurred within your present. This does not mean that he will be consciously aware of future events, for if you remember these events can be changed by him at any time. He is constantly making his own experience. He is constantly forming the events of the past, even as he forms the events of the present and future.

A part of the whole self is quite aware of the probabilities.

EGO can only choose to experience one event out of all the probable events at a time.

Probable events are events whether or not you perceive them as such.

Thoughts are, indeed, events therefore. Wishes and desires are events. As you know, wishes and desires also influence those actions which will be perceived by you as actual events in the physical universe.

The time in which the inner ego exists is, as you know, the spacious present. The spacious present is the basic time in which the whole self has its existence.

The ego maintains much of its stability by looking backwards, so to speak, into its experience of its past. And, finding something of itself there. Now, the past may be an illusion. But, it is not illusion to the ego.

Past, present and future has reality only to the ego.

Permanence as the ego thinks of it would be an alien concept to these portions of the self. And, to them a highly distasteful concept, adding up to rigidity. Flexibility is the key here, a voluntary changing or alteration of the self as it is allowed to change freely with each probability that is explored.

Detailed Summary

  1. Timeless Continuum: Seth’s assertion of the spacious present as the fundamental time aligns with the multidimensional aspects discussed in the previous blog. It elucidates how, in the timeless continuum, choices made between lives are accessible simultaneously, allowing individuals to draw upon experiences from different incarnations.
  2. Nonlinear Time and Reincarnation: Seth’s notion of inverted time, where past, present, and future are interconnected, resonates with the understanding of reincarnation as a process not bound by linear progression. It emphasizes the ongoing influence of past experiences on present and future choices made between lives.
  3. Ego’s Perception of Time: Seth’s distinction between the ego’s perception of time and the timeless nature of the self beyond the ego aligns with the understanding that reincarnation is a process transcending the ego’s linear understanding of time. It suggests that choices made between lives are beyond the limitations of conventional time constructs.
  4. Flexibility and Change: Seth’s emphasis on flexibility and voluntary alteration of the self corresponds to the deliberate choices individuals make between incarnations. It signifies how exploring different probabilities and experiences contributes to the continuous evolution and growth of consciousness.

In summary, Seth’s concepts of the spacious present and inverted time intricately relate to the understanding of reincarnation and the timeless dimensions of consciousness. The interconnectedness of experiences across time and the flexibility inherent in consciousness evolution find resonance in both concepts, offering a holistic view of the perpetual nature of personal growth and exploration beyond conventional temporal boundaries.
